Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmeni özel alan yeterliliklerine baktığımızda, sunulan geniş çerçeve içerisinde
keşfedilmeyi bekleyen önemli bir yeterlilik dikkati çeker. “Özel gereksinimli ve özel eğitime
ihtiyaç duyan öğrencileri dikkate alan uygulamalar yapabilme” yeterlilik alanı 3 performans
göstergesinde toplamda 7 maddede gösterilmiştir. Okullarda özel eğitim öğrencilerinin
gereksinimlerini karşılayabilmek için Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenlerinin de rolünü ve
sorumluluğunu yerine getirebilmesi oldukça önemlidir. İşte bu doğrultuda çalışmanın amacı
Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenlerinin özel eğitim öğrencilerine yönelik özel alan yeterliliklerini ortaya
koymaktır. Araştırmada, betimsel tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu,
kolay ulaşılabilir yöntemle oluşturulmuş ve çalışma grubunu, 2017-2018 eğitim öğretim
döneminde Antalya merkezde görev yapan 28 Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmeni oluşturmuştur.
Araştırmanın verileri, araştırmacılar tarafından “Sosyal Bilgiler Özel Alan Yeterlilikleri”
doğrultusunda hazırlanan görüşme soruları ile toplanmıştır. Toplanan veriler, araştırmacılar
tarafından uzman görüşü alınarak hazırlanan rubrik doğrultusunda analiz edilmiştir.
Çalışmanın sonuçları genel olarak değerlendirildiğinde, çalışma grubundaki Sosyal Bilgiler
öğretmenlerinin özel eğitim öğrencilerine yönelik sınırlı- orta düzey yeterlilik düzeyinde
oldukları söylenebilir.

When we have a look at subject area competencies of Social Studies teachers, an outstanding
competence which stands to be discovered draws our attention. Competency area of “being able
to do activities considering students with special needs and in need of special education” has
been demonstrated in 3 performance indicators in 7 items/entries in total. It is also essential that
social studies teachers should be able to achieve their roles and responsibilities in order to meet
the needs of special education students at schools. In line with this idea, the aim of the current
study is to define subject area competencies of social studies teachers regarding special education
students. Scanning method has been used, and the study group was formed using an easily
accessible method, and 28 social studies teachers working in central Antalya in 2017-2018
academic year contributed to the study. The data gathered through interview questions prepared
by the researchers in accordance with “Social Studies Subject Area Competencies” and analyzed
using a rubric which was prepared by consulting experts’ opinions. When the results were
evaluated in general, it could be said that social studies teachers in the study group have reached
a limited-moderate level competency regarding special education students.
